Let’s start with some Sunday Silliness!
So as I’m getting ready to write this post the Black Eyed Peas song Let’s Get it Started pops in my head but I changed the lyrics to “Let’s Get it Spicy, Let’s Get it Spicy in Here”. I crack myself up sometimes……crickets….
I prefer spices that are grown in the garden to be used fresh or dried, buying them from the store can get pretty expensive.  I’m not sure what happened last year, the only one to survive was the basil. Last year wasn’t a great year at all for my entire garden so I’m anxious to give it some extra TLC this year. I make a lot of different soups so I go through spices like crazy, here is a basic list of what I keep on hand:
- Bay Leaves
- Oregano
- Basil
- Parsley
- Garlic Powder
- Thyme
- Rosemary
- Crushed Red PepperÂ
- Paprika
- Salt
- Pepper
The following are spices that I don’t normally keep on hand that I probably should because sometimes there is a recipe that calls for a certain spice that I don’t have on hand, which leads me to be being super annoyed because why didn’t I just freaking grab at the store the last time ya know? haha.
- Ground Ginger
- Ground Cumin
- Ground Cloves
- Cream of Tarter
- Cinnamon
- Chili Powder
- Nutmeg
What are some of your favorite spices you love to cook with and have to have on hand at all times? Comment below, I’d love to hear from you!
Talk to you soon!
