Granola Granola!

Posted in Granola

So I’ve been thinking for a while now about wanting to make homemade granola. I love granola bars but some I find too sweet or too hard and I’m not always into the fruit and nuts and seeds they mix in…yeah, I know..the struggle is real.

I came across a recipe online a while ago and though I would give it a shot

It came out good, I’m really happy with it but I think I will change a couple of things the next time I make it.

What I used:

1/2 cup of honey

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 cups of oats

1/4 cup vegetable oil

I preheated my oven to 350° -next time I would put it at 250° I think..go the low and slow route

Over medium heat stir the honey, sugar and oil until the sugar is fully dissolved.

I poured the liquid over the oats in a bowl and stir it until it was thoroughly mixed together.

I placed parchment paper on tne baking sheet, added the granola mixture and spread it out evenly

Baked in oven for about 20-30 minutes, stirring every few minutes or so until golden brown.

This is what it looked like when it was finished. The edges were slightly burned but still very good.

In addition to baking it at a lower temperature, I would also add some vanilla and cinnamon..possibly slightly more honey and brown sugar 🙂

What is your favorite kind of Granola?  Love it? Hate it? Comment below, I’d love to hear from you!

Talk to you soon!
