Happy Tuesday guys, we all survived Monday so the week is looking good lol. Ok so its Tuesday and I thought I would do a Tuesday Talk post every week about all sorts of things..from cooking to DIY to self love, marriage, life.. etc. etc. etc. TODAY though I’m gonna blab a bit about tomatoes. Fresh tomatoes from the garden taste amazing, I could live on tomato sandwiches all summer long.
My favorite thing to make with garden fresh tomatoes is sauce! It just tastes absolutely amazing to me.  So here is what I do to get my garden tomatoes ready for sauce.
For the first batch I used about 14 or so tomatoes that I picked from the garden. I rinse them off and place them in a large pot with boiling water. I leave them to boil until the skin starts to peel.
I get a bowl of ice water ready and place them in the bowl for about a minute or 2 until they are warm enough to touch.
I place a strainer over another bowl and after I peel off the skins I place the tomatoes in there and use a hand masher to crush them up. It made the equivalent to about 2 28oz crushed tomato cans.
I place them in a freezer container until I’m ready to make the sauce, I freeze them up to 3 months. I will be posting a homemade sauce recipe so so be on the look out for that 🙂
How do you get your tomatoes ready for sauce? what other recipes do you make with tomatoes? Comment below, I’d love to hear from you!
Talk to you soon!

Once I took some tomatoes and put them in the crockpot with butter. I also added minced garlic onion seasonings and let them cook for like 10 hours. I then add meat, sugar, cayenne pepper and mushrooms?? but I also forgot I add cheese too! It’s super yummy? I think I may be having spaghetti tomorrow now LOL
That sounds amazing, and I will be over for dinner! lol
